WWI Centenary Commemoration
On the afternoon of Saturday November 10 to mark the centenary of the 1918 Armistice, we will be formally opening our collection of personal artefacts and letters relating to former Mildmay members who served in World War One. The collection is on display in the library room, next to the main Club bar, and it was put together through the dedicated efforts of club member Viv Jeffryes, along with the generous support of Pendragon Frames.
The Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville, will be coming to formally mark the occasion at 2.30pm, and tea and refreshments will be served. We hope that as many members and guests will be able to come along, and help to pay their respects to what is an important part of the Club’s heritage.
